Two innovative self-described drinking buddies from Los Angeles introduced the world to a novel hybrid cocktail and dollar menu by creating the McNuggetini, the New York Times reports. The drink, which combines a McDonald’s chocolate shake with vanilla vodka, barbecue sauce around the rim and a McNugget as garnish, is not the duo’s only foray into cocktails for carnivores. Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark have also come up with a Ham Daquiri and an interesting twist on a Bloody Mary—the Bloody Bacon and Cheese.
While the beverages aren’t earning the ladies any accolades in the culinary world—one editor interviewed by the Times dismissed the McNuggetini as “disgusting”—they are certainly captivating viewers’ attention on YouTube. So far more than 70,000 people have watched the four minute video in which the ladies, looking like 1950s housewives, break down the McNugget martini, and more than 15,000 have tuned in to learn about their bacon and cheese cocktail.
Ward and Hardstark first dreamed up and created the interesting concoction in early 2008, and have steadily been gaining media attention since, not surprisingly, being featured on the site This is Why You’re Fat.
