This whole genetics discussion is bogus. The idea that genes determine the strength of a person's resolve is an echo of an earlier failed pseudo science called eugenics. In case anyone failed to notice, about 6 million people were murdered in Europe a few short decades ago in the name of genetic differences. The human spirit is what makes us what we are. And everyone needs to get this straight. Spirit is not something we have. It is what we are. What we have is bodies. Get that distinction and life looks a lot different. Then the accomplishments of stellar athletes can been seen in the light of extraordinary personal accomplishment, not invalidated as "genetic."
