Percentage lower risk of lung cancer in menthol cigarette smokers, compared with smokers of regular cigarettes, according to a 12-state study of people aged 40 to 79, published in the Journal of National Cancer Institute. The study also found that menthols are not more addictive than regular cigarettes. The unexpected results may affect the FDA's deliberations over banning menthol cigarettes. [via Reuters]
