Temperature to which cold meats like hot dogs, cold cuts, luncheon and deli meats should be reheated before being consumed by anyone age 50 or older, in order to prevent potentially serious listeria infection. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said refrigerated meats should be "steaming hot" before eating, and that any opened package of sliced meat should be thrown out within five days.
