Percent of women who report having had a toxic friend at some point in their lives, in a survey conducted by Today.com and Self magazine; 75% of men said the same. These so-called friends included self-absorbed narcissists; emotionally draining downers; self-righteous, overly critical types; underminers, who specialize in insults or backhanded compliments; and unreliable flakes. Eight out of 10 respondents said they'd held onto unhealthy friendships because they just couldn't break up with their buddy. [via Today.com]
