185,000 lbs.

Amount of ground turkey voluntarily recalled by Cargill Inc. in Springdale, Ark., due to concerns over salmonella contamination. The recall comes about a month after the company issued a similar recall in August of more than 36 million lbs. of fresh and frozen ground turkey that was contaminated with drug-resistant Salmonella Heidelberg. Health officials think the previously recalled tainted meat caused illness in more than 100 people in 26 states and at least one death. The turkey meat involved in the current recall has not been linked with any illness, according to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. [via FSIS]
