Four Loko's maker, Phusion Projects, agreed to relabel its supersized malt drinks to resolve charges of deceptive advertising by the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC has charged Phusion with falsely claiming that Four Loko's alcohol content is equivalent to one or two beers, and that people could safely drink a full can, which is non-resealable, in a single sitting. In fact, consuming one can on a single occasion would constitute "binge drinking," the FTC said. In recent years, Four Loko and similar sugary, high-alcohol beverages have been associated with several teenage deaths. [via FTC]
