Percent of 15- to-19-year-old boys who have engaged in oral sex; 48% of girls that age have also had oral sex, according to new government data. Despite the common perception that there’s an epidemic of oral sex among teens, who were thought to be substituting it for intercourse, the data show that rates of oral sex are roughly equal to those of vaginal sex and that teens are just as likely to engage in oral sex before losing their virginity as after. Overall, rates of teen sex, oral or otherwise, have been dropping for the past decade. [via The New York Times]
