Light beers get a bad rap for being watered down versions of classics with less buzz. There’s some truth to it: the lower the alcohol content, the lower the calories. But if you’re planning an all-day celebration, you might be grateful for the caloric savings — and more forgiving of the taste.
Christopher Matthews, reporter: This was surprisingly tasty for a light beer. It has slightly hoppy, caramel flavor to it, but obviously more watered down that your standard Sam Adams. Would definitely recommend for those who usually go for full-flavored beers but are watching their calories.
Andrew Katz, reporter: I couldn’t really distinguish a different taste in the light beer from the variety of regular options already available in stores, which I suppose is a good thing if you’re trying to be a little healthier without sacrificing quality. It did have a hint of a more watered-down consistency, though. Like every beer, it was better ice-cold. Nothing worse than drinking one that has sat out for a half hour.
