Dr. Zachary F. Meisel and Dr. Jesse M. Pines

Meisel is a practicing emergency physician and an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and is the medical editor of the LDI Health Economist, an online magazine. Pines is the director of the Center for Health Care Quality and an associate professor of emergency medicine and health policy at George Washington University. His primary research interests include emergency-department crowding and quality of care, along with testing interventions to safely reduce costs of care and promote care coordination. He is author of two textbooks: Evidence Based Emergency Care: Diagnostic Testing and Clinical Decision Rules and Visual Diagnosis in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.
