Number of compounds identified in maple syrup that may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties similar to those found in "superfoods" like blueberries and green tea. The new study, which is to be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Functional Foods, was funded in part by a maple-syrup producers association in Quebec. [via Discovery News]
