In the second crib recall in as many weeks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall yesterday of 170,000 drop-side cribs sold by C&T International/Sorelle, of East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Prior to 2003, the cribs were also sold under the brand Golden Baby Inc.) The recall was prompted by 104 reports of drop-sides or side slats coming unattached from the cribs. Six small children were injured after getting trapped or falling due to the drop-side failures — suffering bruises and scrapes.

The wooden cribs were sold in cherry, white and natural finishes, and were manufactured in Italy, Latvia, Brazil, China and Vietnam. They have been on the U.S. market since 2000, and sold for between $300 to $600. If you have an incident to report related to a C&T International, Sorelle or Golden Baby wooden crib, you can file an incident report here.
