Percent higher income earned by disagreeable men — that's an extra $9,722 per year — compared with nice guys, according to a study of 20 years of data on some 10,000 of workers in a variety of fields. The researchers also conducted a separate study of 460 business students who were asked to review descriptions of applicants for a job at a fictional company. Men who were described as highly agreeable were less likely to get hired. Why? Possibly because being agreeable may not conform "to expectations of 'masculine behavior,'" the researchers wrote.
