This should be no-brainer. But every summer there are new tales of pets (or kids!) who die trapped inside parked vehicles.
Many people still don’t realize how quickly a car can turn into an oven. Even on a pleasantly warm day of 85 degrees F, the temperature inside a car can reach 102 degrees F within 10 minutes, according to the Humane Society of the United States. And that’s if you’ve got the windows slightly cracked. Within 30 minutes, the temperature will hit 120 degrees F — hot enough that it can kill or cause serious brain or organ damage to your pet.
Never leave an animal alone in the car, even if you expect to be gone just a couple of minutes. Any unexpected delay could change your pet’s life forever.
