Beer (yes, that’s her last name) follows plenty of fellow mothers on Instagram and has read her fair share of mommy blogs. Her assessment? They’re all boring. “I read other mom blogs and I will see they have 100,000 follows and I just wonder, why? It’s the same people writing over and over ‘my boobs are saggy!’ Thanks, everyone’s are. Thanks for pointing it out?” Beer has taken to writing her own blog as well as posting pictures of her two kids, Avery, 4 and Landon, 2, that she thinks her childless friends would still find funny.
Beer describes her Instagram feed as “entertaining, but slightly inappropriate,” and picks her photos based on what would mortify her kids if she were to put them in their yearbook.
“I try to be realistic about motherhood. Nothing irks me more than moms who make their kids out to be perfect angels. For other moms it creates a standoffishness because people feel bad about themselves,” says Beer. “It is funny to talk about things that don’t go your way some of the time. Which is most of the time when you have a four- and a two-year old.”
